Recognising the vulnerability of the Asia-Pacific region to natural disasters, East Asia Summit (EAS) participating countries worked collaboratively over a three year period on an EAS Rapid Disaster Response Toolkit. Developed by Indonesia and Australia, the Toolkit is a guide for decision makers to utilise during times of crises. It also encourages planned and coordinated management of offers and requests for international disaster assistance.
